La Fântâna’s EBITDA on track
Romanian water usage bubbles
Last summer’s temperate weather in Romania meant lower bottled-water sales for La Fântâna. While the company narrowly missed its 2008 revenue budget of €25.1m, it comfortably reached the EBITDA budget with €6.63m by improving productivity. La Fântâna’s subscription-based business model (customers pay a monthly fee regardless of consumption) helped maintain revenues, as did increased water-cooler installations, which rose by over 20% to almost 74,000 units in Romania and Serbia. The company actually raised prices during the 4th Quarter of 2008.
