Bartosz Chytła appointed new CEO of Meritum Bank

The Supervisory Board of Meritum Bank appointed Mr Bartosz Chytła President of the Management Board and CEO of the Bank. Piotr Urbańczyk will be Vice-President of the Management Board.
“Bartosz Chytła brings many years of experience in banking, both as regards development of new communication channels and new banking technologies and improving the efficiency of an organization. I am happy that his existing broad experience will support the further growth of Meritum Bank,” said Krzysztof Kulig, President of the Supervisory Board, Meritum Bank, quoted in the Bank’s press release. The former President and CEO, Piotr Urbańczyk, will now serve as Vice-President of the Management Board.
Bartosz Chytła embarked on a professional banking career in 1996 with First Polish-American Bank. From 2004 he was Vice-President of the Management Board at Fortis Bank, where he was responsible for retail and SME banking. He developed and implemented the strategy for growth in those areas. Between 2009 and 2012 he was President of the Management Board and CEO of DnB NORD Polska and steered the bank through a comprehensive restructuring process. In 2012 he became Vice-President of the Management Board at Getin Holding, while serving on the supervisory boards of Idea Bank and the following companies: Idea Leasing, Idea Expert, MW Trade, and Getin International.
Meritum Bank’s target market includes middle-income private clients, micro and small enterprises and sole traders. The balance sheet total posted by the Bank after Q1 was PLN 2.8 billon.
